Doctorados en Ciencias de las Salud en la Universidad de Gent ,Bélgica (2013) y Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (2010) . Especialista en Medicina Interna (UPCH), Magister en Medicina (UPCH ) , MSc Applied Statistics (University of Hasselt , Belgium) , MSc Clinical Trials (University of London). Investigador distinguido RENACYT con proyectos colaborativos realizados en conjunto con el Instituto de Medicina Tropical Prínce Leopold e Instituto de Medicina Tropical Alexander von Humboldt, UPCH. Autor de numerosos artículos publicados en revistas indizadas en bases de datos internacionales (LILACS y PUBMED) incluyendo BMJ, IJTLD entre otras y trabajos de investigación presentados en los principales congresos Médicos a nivel mundial. Editor científico de la Revista Peruana de Medicina Experimental y Salud Pública durante el periodo 2010-11 y actualmente miembro del comité editor . Premio Nacional "Hipólito Unanue" a la Investigación en Medicina (2005) y Premio Nacional a la Investigación en epidemiología (2005) en base a trabajos destinados a la mejora del diagnóstico de la tuberculosis pulmonar. Autor del libro "El aparato respiratorio" (Universidad Ricardo Palma). Actualmente Jefe del Departamento de Medicina Interna del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue , profesor investigador de la Universidad Ricardo Palma y profesor de posgrado en la Universidad Científica del Sur.

Proyectos de investigación Coinfección por patógenos respiratorios virales y bacterianos detectados por métodos moleculares en pacientes hospitalizados por COVID-19 y su impacto en la mortalidad y desenlaces desfavorables. Un grupo importante de los pacientes contagiados con COVID-19 hacen complicaciones o fallecen.
