QUIÑONES DAVILA JAVIER ANTONIO

Javier Antonio Quiñones Dávila, tiene el grado de Doctor de Ciencias Biológicas en la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata en la Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Mi tesis doctoral, fue sobre la ocurrencia de medusas y su variabilidad ambiental en Perú. Desde 2007, comencé una investigación sobre las tortugas marinas, su dinámica de población y ecología de forrajeo. Últimamente desde 2018, cambio mi investigación a albatros y petreles, su distribución espacial, ecología de forrajeo, hábitat en Perú. Participé activamente en muchos cruceros de investigación sobre aves marinas pelágicas a lo largo de la costa peruana y participé también en 11 expediciones antárticas (Perú, Argentina y EE.UU.). Trabajé poniendo transmisores satelitales GPS en los Albatros de Chatham y de Buller en el sur de Perú por medio de un proyecto que gane con la ACAP (Acuerdo para la Conservación en Albatros y Petreles). Además, actualmente estoy colaborando con el Departamento de Conservación de Nueva Zelanda en relación con el uso del hábitat de los petreles Salvin y Black en Peru y su traslape espacial con el esfuerzo pesquero de la pesquería artesanal peruana. Acabo de terminar una pasantía en Nueva Zelanda Tengo 35 publicaciones científicas indexadas.

Ocurrencia de tortugas marinas y ecología alimentaria y rastreo satelital en la zona de Pisco Durante el 2012 y 2013 se realizó un análisis en monitoréos acuáticos con tortugas verdes (Chelonia mydas) vivas en “La Aguada” (13°51’S y 76°15’W) en la parte sureste de la Bahía de Paracas; se utilizaron redes tortugeras, el promedio de longitud de red usada fue de 1066.1±183.2m, tamaño de malla 50-65 cm; se capturaron un total de 87 tortugas, el número promedio de tortugas capturadas por km de red tendida fue 3.7±3.8 (0.34 tortugas/hora/100m de red tendida); El tamaño promedio del LCC fue d INSTITUTO DEL MAR DEL PERU Febrero 2013 Diciembre 2016 JAVIER ANTONIO QUIÑONES DAVILA Ciencias Naturales
