CHAVEZ FUMAGALLI MIGUEL ANGEL

Soy graduado en Medicina Veterinaria por la Universidad Federal Rural de Pernambuco (Brasil), realice la Maestría y el Doctorado en el curso de Posgrado en Farmacología Bioquímica y Molecular en la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (Brasil). Luego, actué como investigador posdoctoral en el Instituto em Ciencia e Tecnologia em Nanobiofarmaceutica (Brasil), en el Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (España) y en el programa de Posgrado en Ciencias de la Salud: Enfermedades Infecciosas y Medicina Tropical, de la Facultad de Medicina de la UFMG (Brasil). Retorne al Perú como Investigador Asociado a la Universidad Católica de Santa María (UCSM) con el concurso de Incorporación de Investigadores desarrollado por CONCYTEC y el Banco Mundial. Tengo experiencia en el Diseño de Fármacos Asistido por Computadora y en Bioinformática aplicada al desarrollo de vacunas y pruebas de diagnóstico, teniendo como interés principal las enfermedades desatendidas como la Leishmaniasis y la Enfermedad de Chagas. Como Investigador Principal del Grupo de Investigación en Biología y Química Computacional de la UCSM vengo promoviendo la iniciativa de la Base de Datos de Productos Naturales del Perú (PeruNPDB) (http://perunpdb.com.pe/), que fue concebida como una herramienta para el cribado virtual e identificación de compuestos prometedores. Soy coautor de más de 120 artículos en revistas indexadas internacionales y 05 patentes (entre presentadas y concedidas), además de actuar como revisor en diversas revistas científicas de alto impacto como The Lancet Microbe (ISSN: 2666-5247) y The Lancet Infectious Diseases (ISSN: 1473-3099). Actualmente, mis índice H e i (índice i10) son de 32 y 77 (Google Scholar), respectivamente.
