ARBIZU BERROCAL CARLOS IRVIN

Ingeniero Agrónomo de la Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM, Perú). Como estudiante universitario, determinó la diversidad genética de una calabaza local llamada “loche” con marcadores SSR. Tiene un doctorado en Fitomejoramiento y Genética Vegetal de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison (EE.UU.). Durante sus estudios de posgrado, infirió la filogenia molecular y morfológica del género zanahoria (Daucus) empleando la técnica NGS + análisis multivariado. Cinco publicaciones en revistas arbitradas resultaron de esta investigación. Asimismo, posee 15 años de experiencia profesional en organizaciones públicas y privadas tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Tiene alrededor de 30 publicaciones en revistas arbitradas (Scopus). Además, junto con otros colegas, obtuvo becas para proyectos de investigación por un total de USD 1,4 M. Actualmente, ocupa un cargo de Profesor en la Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza de Amazonas (Perú). Sus áreas de investigación son: (i) genómica vegetal y animal, (ii) filogenómica, (iii) fenómica y (iv) genética cuantitativa. Durante su tiempo libre, le gusta jugar con sus hijos, hacer caminatas en las montañas, jugar fútbol, ​​leer y cocinar y comer (principalmente carne de res o pescado).
