GUTIERREZ REYNOSO GUSTAVO AUGUSTO

Ing. Zootecnista y Mg.Sc. en Produccion Animal obtenidos en la Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Ph.D. en Animal Breeding and Genetics (Iowa State University, USA), especialista en Producción Animal y Mejora genética con énfasis en camélidos sudamericanos, ovinos y vacunos. Actualmente viene desarrollando investigación en genómica de los animales de granja para fines de hacer mas eficiente la mejora genética. Dicta los cursos de "Uso de marcadores moleculares en la mejora genética animal" en la carrera de Zootecnia, y a nivel de posgrado los cursos de "Genómica de animales de granja y "Estrategias para el mejoramiento genético en animales". Desempeño el cargo de jefe del Programa de Investigación y Proyección Social en Ovinos y Camélidos Americanos, y ocupa la Jefetura del Programa de Mejoramiento Animal y del Servicio de Evaluaciones Genéticas de la UNALM. Esta ultima, se encarga de realizar evaluaciones genéticas en ganado vacuno Holstein en el Perú y alpacas Huacaya. Ha participado como expositor en conferencias nacionales e internacionales, así como publicado capítulos en libros y artículos científicos. Profesor principal de la Facultad de Zootecnia de la UNALM y coordinador del Doctorado en Ciencia Animal. Revisor en las revista Frontier in Genetics.

Establecimiento de un mapa físico preliminar de marcadores moleculares de polimorfismo de nucleótido simple (SNP) en alpaca (Vicugna pacos) en base a información obtenida con un chip de bovinos (Bovine HD genotyping BeadChip) El proyecto busca identificar y localizar marcadores de SNP en Alpaca, basados en un estudio preliminar realizado con el uso de un chip de marcadores en bovino (Bovine HD Genotyping Beadchip). El uso de un chip de una especie cercana a la Alpaca ha permitido identificar más de 70,000 marcadores tipo SNP que son positivos en el bovino. Strengthening llama production in the Central Andes of Peru The objective of this project is to strengthen the production system using different intervention strategies. The management of the breeding program will be further supported. Key elements for a breeding program (selection index and performance test procedures for breeding males) will be developed in a participatory way with farmers. IDENTIFICACIÓN DE POLIMORFISMOS DE NUCLEÓTIDOS SIMPLES (PNSS) Y DESARROLLO DE UN CHIP DE PNSS PARA LA IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE TECNOLOGÍAS AVANZADAS DE MEJORA GENÉTICA EN ALPACAS HUACAYA Se identificaran cerca de 50,000 polimorfismos de nucleótidos simples (PNSs) en la alpaca y se desarrollara un “chip” de PNSs. Se obtendrá una muestra aproximada de 900 animales para genotiparlos usando el chip de PNSs y buscar asociaciones de PNSs con finura de fibra, peso de vellón, y porcentaje de fibra medulada.
