SANTOLALLA ROBLES MEDDLY LESLYE

Meddly Santolalla es geneticista peruana recien recientemente reincorporada al Perú después de hacer doctorado y pos-doctorado en Genética con el Dr. Tarazona en Brasil (UFMG). . Su área de interés es el estudio de factores epidemiológicos y genéticos de enfermedades complejas y desatentidas. Graduada de Tecnología Médica de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, con Diploma en Parasitología Clínica en la Universidad Daniel Alcides Carrión, Maestría en Ciencias en Investigación Epidemiológica en la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia y recientemente ha obtenido el grado de Doctorado en Genética por la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (Brasil). Formación en disciplinas basadas en laboratorio y métodos cuantitativos en epidemiología y estudios de campo. Experiencia en el diseño, coordinación y ejecución de estudios de campo sobre malaria. Siete años de experiencia laboral como asistente de investigación en el Laboratorio de Parasitología y Biología Molecular que incluye Secuenciamiento de ADN de Sanger y de Next generation sequencing. Buen manejo del programa estadístico R, y con experiencia en el análisis estadístico de datos epidemiológicos y genómicos. Durante su doctorado se centró en el área de Genética Humana, aplicando análisis bioinformático en el estudio de la ancestralidad a nivel genómico y en la susceptibilidad a características complejas.

They worked many overtime shifts, gave up holidays and worked many days in succession to ensure the proper performance of the vaccine protocol. Their dedication resulted in the succesful completion of the study which tested the efficacy of three different vaccine formulations. These results may contrubute to the future development of vaccine formulations. These results may contribute to the future development of vaccines that can prevent falciparum malaria in humans. PERÚ
