AROQUIPA VELASQUEZ HECTOR

Civil Engineer, full professor, researcher, and consultant with over 21 years of experience in the academic, scientific, and professional fields of engineering. His career is distinguished by a strong integration of university teaching, applied research, academic management, and specialized professional practice. He serves as a professor at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as a visiting lecturer in Master’s and PhD programs in Civil Engineering, maintaining a close connection between academic training and real-world engineering practice. His research focuses on structural engineering, earthquake engineering, structural vulnerability, seismic risk management, structural health monitoring, and collapse prediction in structural systems, with scientific output published in high-impact journals. He has participated as a speaker at national and international conferences in Peru, Colombia, Dubai (UAE), Mexico, Japan, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, Costa Rica, and Bolivia, consolidating a strong international academic presence and active engagement in high-level scientific forums. In the professional field, he has held roles as a manager, consultant, construction supervisor, and arbitrator under public procurement law at the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Puno, where he also served as a member of the Superior Council. He has led structural design projects both in Peru and abroad and has worked in key public and private institutions, including the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, SENCICO, regional governments, the TRABAJA PERÚ program, and public universities. He graduated with honors from the PhD program at Federico Villarreal National University (UNFV) and was awarded a Presidential Scholarship (Peru) for international studies (2013). He is recognized for his leadership, multidisciplinary teamwork, strategic vision, and strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
